[ There's a new inmate around - a pretty girl that can't be out of middle school yet and stares at the feed for a long moment before speaking, probably unsure if it's on at all. ]

Pardon me just barging in to ask but, there's got to be a piano around here, right? It'll be a problem if there isn't one...

[ And that's apparently all she has to say, because the transmission ends. She doesn't seem to be particularly worried about the general situation. ]

b. ) action

[ There's someone sleeping in the common room - just on a chair, not even leaning forward to place her head on a table. Her newbie guidelines are lying in her lap. She's been there for a long amount of time now, dare to wake her? ]

[ Because she might just. save all her money for it, really. ]

Anything can be obtained if you have the means, darling.

I wonder about that...

[ And first and foremost she wonders about immaterial values now, because she's that kind of person. ]

If I were you, I'd play the next event we have. The more dangerous, the more Cast Points you get. You'll need them for candy anyway, may as well save up and get what you want too.

That sounds good. I don't like the idea of performing in public, but there doesn't appear to be a real choice.

You'll find choice doesn't factor into many things anymore.

I'm used to that. So it's fine.

Why might that be, darling?

[ She briefly hesitates. Somehow, she thinks, it should be obvious. Her world is small and unless you scratch her sense of morals she's an obedient person - she doesn't have a reason to go against what people tell her. She doesn't normally choose. And in a way, she doesn't believe other people do as much either, normally. That's what it was like growing up in a small and dirty town. ]

Isn't life a lot like that? You do what your parents say, what the school says, what's polite... That's how it happens. Choices are often reserved for heroic moments, like in a fairytale.

I've never been quite one for following the path others choose for me.

[ There may have been a time when she was determined to take the easy way out of things, but.. realistically, she's been very bad at listening to what other people tell her, for better or worse. ]

One might say you just chose not to choose.

[ Choose not to chose... That sounds as much weirdly dangerous as it sounds admirable. ]

That's a very different kind of life.. It must be hard to be here then, now.

[ Okay that does sound suspicious. ]

[ She smiles at that, like she's completely willing to kill someone if it's over her fiance but not if it's over a Klondike Bar ok. ]
