[As displeased as he looks after the first few seconds of silence, he does motion her to the documents room, where news paper slides, paper index card listings, and other older, more rarely used materials are kept. It's at least a less conspicuous location, beyond the desk, but likely still one with security cameras.]

I would be interested in what kind of poison it is that has no primary effects until it's suddenly fatal and how it streams without refilling it at any specific interval.

Not much; it's not relevant. [If she's finished with him, he seems ready to leave the room; he is, after all, on the clock at work. His tone is dismissive, but he can't quite manage to make it flippant or to sound sincerely content with his own stated choice.] I'm not against playing by the rules for freedom, eventually.

Regardless, it's government sanctioned. How do you expect to function as an escaped convict, if you don't get out by following the rules?

It's not about getting out of prison, it's about getting out of this prison. They're ignoring some very important human rights here.

[He stops short of walking out at that, looking straight ahead at the general library, considering a retort to that but ultimately deciding it's better to keep his head low in a place like this.]

[It didn't take a genius to see the dismissal in that but it was a polite one. Even if more people would make it easier, she didn't need everybody in the prison to believe her.]
