Maybe you should switch that to checkers, then. They can become kings. In chess, a pawn's just a pawn. Rooks are pretty crazy, though.

Don’t you know that in chess, once the pawn reaches the other side, it can become any piece it wishes to be? What’s not important is the king, but the queen. A pawn who becomes a queen becomes unstoppable.

And that is what I wish for.

It's also way more fun than chess.
