[ Ryu wasn't at all keen on being seen if he could avoid it, but a text post would be too frigid. He had to make himself seem accessible in some capacity even if he didn't care to be. People would be most likely to give information if he used the voice function, he decided. It gave a sense of anonymity without complete disconnection. ]

[ It was evident from his tone of voice that he didn't care to waste time even if it did mean sacrificing tact. ]

[ To Ryu's surprise the punch was much harder than he had been expecting, and it threw him back momentarily. He had been hit square in the jaw and immediately it began to throb with pain, but it didn't matter. Hidari had just foolishly given him an outlet, and despite his better judgment he would take it. As quick as Shotaro's first strike had come he returned it with a fist of his own, just barely able to hold himself back from losing control completely. ]

[He had tried to duck out of the way of that punch but there was a door jamb in the way. He interrupted Terui's follow-through by grabbing his arm and ramming him into the opposite wall with his shoulder.]

[ Ryu hit the wall with a thud. A sharp pain ran through his body, but it wasn't enough to make him stop. He grabbed Hidari by the shoulders and pushed him back, hoping a kick to the shin would take him down long enough for him to get the upper hand. ]

[The kick didn't take him down, but it got him off of him. But he used the space to bring in another punch, which could really be seen coming from a mile away.]

[ Terui shot his hand up just in time to catch his fist, pushing his hand back to halt his momentum. It really had been a weak shot, and it was a mistake Hidari would pay for with nails digging into his fist. ]

Dumb luck must have been on your side when you ended the life of Sokichi Narumi.

[ Philip was trying to sleep.

Unfortunately, trying was as far as he could get when two idiots down the hall were yelling and punching each other. So there is now a disheveled boy with paper clips stuck in his hair stumbling into Ryu's cell. ]

Will the two of you both keep it down?!

[Pay no attention to the creeping scaly stuff coming from Shotaro's busted-up knuckles. It retracts when he hears Philip. He shoots Terui one more dirty look before he finally backs off.]

[ Ryu definitely paid mind to it, but he could hardly get a look before it was gone. More frustrated than wary, he loosened his grip and threw Hidari's hand forward. It was a gruff way of returning it, but he was lucky to get it back at all.

He met Shotaro's glare before looking to face the boy who had interrupted them. He looked an absolute mess, and it didn't take much intuition to piece together that he was the one Hidari had mentioned before. ]

I'm not going to stop doing my job because it inconveniences you.

[ He shot a look at Hidari as if to say that message was meant for the both of them. ]

Shotaro. Maybe you should leave him alone.

[He shakes his fist out and comes over near Philip. He really just shrugs. Now that the fight was over, he was back to those nagging guilty thoughts again.]

[ If they were going to stand together that made it easier for him to glare at both at them, and glare he did. This kid seemed to have some sort of control over Hidari, which was something Terui would definitely remember. In that vein he deserved some respect. He didn't explicitly agree to his request, but Ryu gave him a curt nod before returning his attention to who he was really interested in. ]

Whatever you're hiding, I will find out. Consider making it easier on yourself next time by telling me the real story.

[ Philip shoots Terui one of his patented What-The-Fuck-Are-You-Even-Talking-About looks before turning and gesturing for Shotaro to follow him out of the cell. ]
