To those of you who participated in the Milgram Experiment yesterday in the role of the questioner, I have two questions of my own. Did you choose to shock your partner for any incorrect responses they may have given? And why or why not?

Of course I did. Did they end up dying? Yes. Why did I do it? Well, frankly, I wanted it to be swift. Electrocution isn't a painless death but it's all I could do. If I had argued it would have just been drawn out for them. Pressing that button was a mercy.
