It's been made clear that I'm not the only one who enjoys a good game here. Tell me, darlings, what sorts of games do you play best?

[ What sorts of games she's even talking about is questionable. Political games? Board games? Video games? She won't specify but she will take all answers. After all, it's good to find out just what sorts of things people are up to.

What sorts of games she prefers are clearly the ones she wins, if the fact that she's dressed in a bathing suit and appears to be leaning over the edge of a.. jacuzzi... with a glass of wine set next to it... has anything to say about that... ]

It isn't as though I have many multiple rooms. The kitchen is there. [ She points to one end, then to the other. ] The bathroom is there. I'm sure you can see the balcony. The view of the carnival is exquisite.

Can you go out on the balcony?

Yes, though if I desired to sneak out at night I'd hardly need to escape. If you can get into these rooms you don't have a curfew.

[ And she already wagered a guess about whether or not she could make it to the gate, since she could see the carnival from there. Even stood on the ledge and put a foot over, but nope. Nothing worth trying that for. If that was even what Peter was thinking. That was the first thing she thought. ]

No curfew sounds like a worthy investment into these.

[ sitting up and craning his neck to look at the balcony, then gets up and peers at it without opening the door out- hands on the glass. he probably had the same ideas, but of course she would've already tried them and he knows that. ]

If only we could fly.

Not having a roommate is another perk.

[ She came to tolerate Kanbaru and even think she might be worth something. Not sure what, but she wasn't horrible, but Ana needed her space. She wasn't the Red Queen she pretended to be, she needed her own space to just let herself relax from time to time. And after Will got here..

Well, she's not sure if the room was worth it now that Will was here. If she ever had any chance with recovering that relationship, the same behavior she left him for wasn't going to help. He wasn't supposed to be here. If there was anyone that made it hard for her to continuing playing the part of Queen no matter how practiced she was at it, it was him.

It was a good thing that Peter was staring out the window as she considered all the more reasons to enjoy a private room, as her eyes revealed far more than any of her words ever would. Her voice seemed to lower, but she tucked that emotion away just like she always did and put a smile on as she moved to stand next to Peter at the glass. ]

If I ever find a bottle and a genie comes out, I'll be sure to consider it.

[ In other words, keep dreaming, Peter. ]

[ peter drops his hands and leans his forehead on the glass and for a moment looks... so sad. crushed. devastated. He doesn't dream like he wants. Genies don't exist. Fact. You can't fly away. Fact. If never escape. Fact. You'll die. Fact. Reality sinks in too far up high because if you look down you know you'll fall. Fail. Time is too short. This isn't fair.

His expression switches glaring and looking like he might just smash the glass on her but he notices where she moved and he straightens himself out (with a ragged breath. ow.), steps back from it, and in two seconds flat has a charming little smile. ]

I'll have to get one of these. The view from my cell isn't quite as nice.

[ She glances to him, but there's no way to know what he's thinking exactly. She knows that he doesn't want to die. No one would willingly get themselves caught to end up here if they had another choice. It was too bad, really. Had they met before prison, the Red Queen might have liked him enough to pay for a doctor. But they were two whose paths never would have crossed if they hadn't ended up in this prison.

If she could change the past that'd be the last thing she'd care to do though. She was too selfish, that had been what she'd messed up in the first place. Focusing on her wants instead of what was necessary. Save a boy's life or get her boyfriend back?

Neither were going to happen. ]

The only prices to pay are steep.

[ He knows she wouldn't. Nobody would save him if given a choice between one thing or another. He has to save himself. ]

Mmhm. Obviously. [ He rolls his eyes and then does a little hand gesture in a mocking manner ]

All magic comes at a price. [ he goes back to that sofa and lays across it on his back now ]

Not so sure there's anything magical about this place. And yet we keep paying.

[ CP gets you things, sure, but it's entirely possible to get things other ways. Anastasia was case and point. Nothing that anyone needs besides those little candies, though. ]

There's nothing magical about raising the dead? [ because we all know he needs something besides those little candies. what oh what is the price of that one? ]

You should set a goal. Surely there's an opportunity you couldn't get anywhere else that you might have overlooked worth paying for.

It's more likely that it's science that they can't release to anyone else because of unethical methods, darling.

[ Which means he still has a chance. Science can be as powerful as magic in some ways if it gets far enough, and it's real. ]

The ones I can think of have a very shiny hook sticking out of their backs ready to reel in when the moment strikes.

Science is just magic people figured out how to do. And I don't exactly care about ethics.

[ he's smirking to himself about her answer there ]

I'm not the one who put them there, darling. [ Getting what she wants is hard, but she was never one to give up was she? Not a chance. ] There are many ways to snap a line.

I really want to see what you'll do when those lines snap.

I'll take everything I want. I've never gotten anything I haven't had to do such with, I doubt I will even moreso now.

Don't be silly, darling. Saying "never" is just inviting tragedy to your name. I simply don't plan to here.

I've never had tragedy and I say never an awful lot.

[ Ana is so good at the controlled expressions where only her eyes give everything away. Peter... not so much. His face gets those flashes of emotion when something bothers him where he looks like a wounded puppy. And it always immediately turns into some kind of anger before he grins like a smug little shit.

Blink and you'll miss it. ]

[ Anastasia savors those moments when it feels like someone other than her is the one to lose their semblance of control. He says 'never' again as though he's fighting the all-too-obvious sting with sheer willpower, but willpower won't save him. Anastasia never would have met him here in Deadman Wonderland if it could have. ]

[ There's a facial twitch because she managed to get under his skin and she knows it. 'Don't say I didn't warn you'? He's pulled that line out then watched someone fail. It's not a line people succeed after hearing unless they actually change their viewpoint on a matter. She's right. Never is an awfully long time... ]

Tch. Well, in any case. Anything I've been saying it for is highly unlikely.
