[She looks a bit groggy when the video turns on, though her voice doesn't seem to be bothered by it all.]

This is to the people running this place. I know you watch us, I know you have eyes on us somewhere. This collar, the stuff it does, you're only getting away with it because nobody outside of here knows but they will. You can't keep it a secret, people will find out and I'll make sure of it.

And about the nap? You can't keep me... chloroformed or whatever forever.

[He spends a few moments frowning at his device, wondering whether she completely failed to grasp the disinterest in his last reply or whether she just doesn't care. After considering for a few minutes just ending it at that and letting her hunt him down, he resigns himself to replying.]

When and where?

[He could have ended it there. Though she was willing to push a bit through words, but she could have gotten someone else to check rather than track him down.]

Know where the library is? We can just meet now.

[He at least knows what she looks like from her video; having only replied through text, the duty of recognizing her falls to him. It isn't as if the library is terribly busy; shockingly, the threat of a violent or painful death or dismemberment doesn't give many a hankering for reading about ostentatious cats or a two timing pervert in the immediate post-war period.

With a last check over the current occupants, he heads to the entrance, making sure he can keep an eye on the desk if someone goes there needing him to do anything.

He makes eye contact as soon as he sees her, indicating he'd been waiting.]

[She moves up to him, glad she didn't even have to look.]

Skye. It was a long walk.

[Then her eyes move to his neck.] I want to check it out. Your, uh, collar. Is there a back room or something?

[He resists the urge to physically step back, but he still makes a face seeing where her eyes are going.] You have one of your own.

Yeah, on my neck, where I can't see it well enough. Relax, I'm not going to beat you up and take your lunch money.

If it has an automatic anti-tampering security feature, it'll be me who suffers.

I'm not going to tamper, I'm just going to look at it. I'll be careful, girl scout's honor.

[As displeased as he looks after the first few seconds of silence, he does motion her to the documents room, where news paper slides, paper index card listings, and other older, more rarely used materials are kept. It's at least a less conspicuous location, beyond the desk, but likely still one with security cameras.]

I would be interested in what kind of poison it is that has no primary effects until it's suddenly fatal and how it streams without refilling it at any specific interval.

[The cameras where everywhere so they had little chance to avoid them.]

Whoa, slow down. I'm not poison control, so I don't know much about that. I'm just going to see if I can find a mic or something.

It'd have to be beneath the surface metal layer. We can shower and swim. [But he'll still cooperate, pulling his hair back out of the way as he takes a seat. She may know more about water proof or hidden devices, and that includes the point of injection.]

Waterproof doesn't...[Her words trail off as her fingers move to the collar, feeling for any kind uneven material, her eyes following along with her fingers.]...mean seamless, just that the important part is protected.

The poison's injection mechanism's also of interest. [For someone who was so uptight about agreeing, he's rather relaxed about some criminal groping about his neck, tilting his head to try to give her the best view or access depending where she's examining.]

[He was in prison, too. Rocks and glass houses.]

Nothing. [Once she's felt around the collar, she moves back to her own space.} Whatever they're using, it's good.

[She crosses her arms.] Unless it's a decoy and they're really getting it into us some other way.

[That was different.]

So you didn't find out anything.

Not yet. [She settles into her stance, exhaling as she tried to think.] What else do you know about surveillance in this place?

Not much; it's not relevant. [If she's finished with him, he seems ready to leave the room; he is, after all, on the clock at work. His tone is dismissive, but he can't quite manage to make it flippant or to sound sincerely content with his own stated choice.] I'm not against playing by the rules for freedom, eventually.

[So, he's probably not going to be the biggest help.]

Rules? Do you know how many they're breaking here?

Regardless, it's government sanctioned. How do you expect to function as an escaped convict, if you don't get out by following the rules?

[He doesn't need to know the full answer to this.]

It's not about getting out of prison, it's about getting out of this prison. They're ignoring some very important human rights here.

[He stops short of walking out at that, looking straight ahead at the general library, considering a retort to that but ultimately deciding it's better to keep his head low in a place like this.]

[It didn't take a genius to see the dismissal in that but it was a polite one. Even if more people would make it easier, she didn't need everybody in the prison to believe her.]
