Happy New Years, Deadman Wonderland. It's been a little while, hasn't it? I was at the party, quite lively, huh? Some prisoners are gone but I keep seeing new faces. It's a little sad but that's how things go. It's very unfortunate...

However, maybe we need to have a discussion to keep our minds sharp.

What do you think about lying and, on that line, liars? Is lying truly needed?

Accusations should be common to someone who isn't open about who they are.

That doesn't mean manners should be forgotten.

What I'm saying is quite simple: I'm less likely to tell someone what I'm up to if all they do is try to belittle or insult me.

Don't act like you would tell anyone regardless.

Ah, but I wanted to... I would think that if someone wanted information from me they might at least give me the barest courtesy.

Since you're new, I can give you information on recent events that happened before you got here... which you can follow up on to confirm. That should prove my honesty--wouldn't it?

Well, if you think of it that way.

Recently, before Christmas, there was video footage of the Warden beating the second in command. He was taken deep into the prison for some purpose--I'm afraid no prisoner knows why... Accept maybe one. There was a prisoner who gathered a rabble crew to rescue him. It appears that the mission was a success. The leader of that crew should be easy to find. After all... She did call a meeting in her private cell.

The Warden hasn't responded. Yet, so it seems.

[ That sounded much too absurd to be a lie, and the anonymous had likely chosen to tell him that particular line of events for that very reason. It was something he would look into later, but for now he would continue the conversation. He didn't want to risk losing the window of response. ]

My question for you is simple. Why are you opposed to liars?

Oh? That's a very simple answer. I find lies detestable. If you name a crime, lying is at the root of it.

Are you a liar as well, then?

To get catch a predator, a person must become a predator.

Then you're no better than the rest.

That's just a side effect. If it's what it takes to punish them, then so be it.

It's a common saying--it means a person can usually get more out of people if they use a more gentler or positive approach rather than one that annoys or makes the person in question afraid. Honey is sweet but vinegar is bitter.

Honey or vinegar... Which will attract more flies? I'll be sure to report my results on this network once I've determined it. If it's such a common saying then there is a strong possibility that your hypothesis is correct.
