Waking up
[Shotaro woke up screaming. Perhaps out of some remembered pain, or his fear had been a bit more than he had let on in front of Terui. His eyes were wide and his face sweaty as he patted himself down. As if he had to verify that yes, indeed, he was still here.

Sadly his foot still wasn't. It would have been nice if they gave it back. It might take the edge off.]

On with his day
[Just because he should be dead didn't mean he didn't have work to do. He made his daily check of the Tip Box in the Lounge before heading to his morning shift at the Gift Shop. After having lunch and doing some reading in the Lounge with his stump propped up on the coffee table, he's off to work again in the Laundry.

He might be a little excessively jumpy today, so it's a great time for people to sneak up on him and clap him on the shoulder.]

[ Philip didn't sleep well the previous night, so as soon as the cells unlocked he was already on the way out of his and toward Shotaro's.

That screaming coming from Shotaro's cell only made him pick up his pace. He threw the door open and rushed in, eyes wide. ]

Shotaro?!

[tanteiotaku]

[Okay someone bursting in like that is the last thing he needed. He shouts and scrambles away on the bed against the wall.]

[decideformyself]

[ He comes to a stop just inside the door and stares in confusion. ]

Shotaro? It's me. Are you all right?

[tanteiotaku]

[Finally, his brain kicks in. He leans his head forward as if he needs to get a better look, and he finally relaxes.]

I'm alright. Just-- Don't rush a guy like that. [Pushes his hair back out of his face with a sigh.]

[decideformyself]

My apologies.

[ A little more hesitantly than usual, he approaches Shotaro's bed. ]

Ryu Terui told me what happened.

[tanteiotaku]

[And he starts untwisting himself from his sheets. How did one freakout do this, jeez?]

Yeah? Does he still think he's responsible for it?

[decideformyself]

He insisted on apologizing.

I am glad you're all right.

[tanteiotaku]

If he does I'm going to insist on punching him in the face.

As all right as I was before I was fried like a shrimp. [Okay time to change clothes. It is hopefully only his imagination that he smells like smoke.]

[decideformyself]

[ Philip will help him keep his balance.

It doesn't make sense, he knew Shotaro was going to come back so why does he feel so relieved? It was only expected, right? ]

Why did you allow yourself to die, Shotaro?

Laundry

[whiteas]

[ It's time for Weiss to stop by with her laundry! A large pile of laundry. Mostly because she had to go buy a couple of extra clothing items because she didn't want to bother keeping what she was wearing when she was electrocuted. ]

Here. I brought extra hangers, so make sure that these don't sit and get wrinkly when you're done.

Do I look like a guy that lets a shirt get wrinkled? [Come on, Weiss. He's always impeccably dressed. He puts a grin on even if he's not really feeling it.]

No, but there are plenty of people who look nice but aren't. It doesn't hurt to be specific.

[tanteiotaku]

They're safe with me, Weiss. Don't worry your tiny little head about it. [He is probably going to regret that decision.]

[whiteas]

[ She picks up her laundry again. ]

I'm going to come back later when someone with more manners is in.

[ Don't follow up on that, Shotaro, just let her go for your dignity's sake. ]

[tanteiotaku]

Oi! Oi! Okay, I get it, sorry!

[whiteas]

Really? Because I am not in a good mood today, peg-leg.

[ If they're going to go into pointing out obvious physical features, why not. ]

We're even now.

[tanteiotaku]

Peg-leg?! [And he's plainly pissed off by that and shouts accordingly but he gets her point and the anger ebbs away.]

Well that makes two of us. What's eating you?

[unquestionable]

[ It hadn't been easy for Ryu to fall asleep the previous night. He was restless and irritable, and had stayed up until early hours reading books and old posts on the network. He told himself he was just being precise and doing his job, but really he was upset by what had happened to Hidari.

When the morning announcements came, he was already wide awake with full intention of seeking him out. He did, however, know that Philip had the right to talk to him first. It was impossible that even death would prevent him from checking his tip box, so that was where he'd be waiting for him. ]

[tanteiotaku]

[And Terui was right. But even having died didn't keep him from reading people.] You look like hell.

[unquestionable]

[ He scoffed, but not in a way that implied he was angry. From the look on his face he seemed relieved. ]

So do you, Hidari.

[tanteiotaku]

[He adjusts his tie and tugs a bit on his shirt collar.] All things considered, I could look worse. Did I miss anything interesting?

[unquestionable]

[ He tensed at that question. ]

I had to tell Philip what happened to you. Did you not think of how hard it would be on him?

[tanteiotaku]

[FUNNY THING THAT.

He wasn't quite ready to start talking about Philip so soon today.] He's stronger than most people give him credit for.

[Well, if he was going to be able to discuss this with anyone, it was either John or Terui, and he found Terui first.] But I may have been a little too quick to make him my partner.

[unquestionable]

He's just a teenager and he cares about you more than anyone else. I don't care how strong you think he is. You hurt him.

[ And that comment was all it took for any sense rationality in his tone to turn to something close to anger. ]

What the hell does that mean?

[tanteiotaku]

[He puts a hand up when Terui's tone changes.] Like you said, he's a kid. Brilliant he may be, he's still just a kid.

[Wiggling his fingers of his left hand, bruised knuckles kind of obvious.]
