Waking up
[Shotaro woke up screaming. Perhaps out of some remembered pain, or his fear had been a bit more than he had let on in front of Terui. His eyes were wide and his face sweaty as he patted himself down. As if he had to verify that yes, indeed, he was still here.

Sadly his foot still wasn't. It would have been nice if they gave it back. It might take the edge off.]

On with his day
[Just because he should be dead didn't mean he didn't have work to do. He made his daily check of the Tip Box in the Lounge before heading to his morning shift at the Gift Shop. After having lunch and doing some reading in the Lounge with his stump propped up on the coffee table, he's off to work again in the Laundry.

He might be a little excessively jumpy today, so it's a great time for people to sneak up on him and clap him on the shoulder.]

And I'm an heiress whose father sponsors events for this very prison. I don't think it matters too much what we used to be in here so long as word travels quickly to everyone.

[ He wasn't getting her attempt to divert the conversation with a little sarcasm. Weiss was pretty sure she was bad at this and trying didn't really work for credit in this situation, but she was trying one more time regardless since saying it was more than suspicious if the Warden really was listening in on them.

She even pointedly darts her eyes up toward one of the more obvious cameras to try to get him off of that topic. ]

[He shakes his head.] It's not 'used to be'. I still am a detective, even if I'm a prisoner here too.

[ Whatever. She doesn't have to admit that she agrees that everything is not okay here if he doesn't want to agree to shut up and stop saying things like he's going to bring her down when the smartest thing to do would be to let her think she's won to get her off their backs. At least in her opinion. Weiss has always been the type to distinguish between fights picked, fights needed, and fights you can avoid. It's taking everything in her not to say something to him that's going to get her on the Warden's radar. ]

If you keep saying things like you're a detective and trying to fight the Warden, you're going to end up a creek without a paddle, feet, or arms to swim with. Then when you get out of here? You'll be known as the detective with the criminal past. That's not very good for business.

Except I'm in that special group of prisoners that doesn't get to leave.

I have my doubts about that being too much more than a rumor for anyone.

[ She doesn't think that if they get the information out of this prison that they need to it'll stay open for too long. ]

Yeah? Why's that?

You're a detective, figure it out.

You're really hard to deal with, you know. No wonder you're fighting with your boyfriend.

[whiteas]

I was fighting with him because he started panicking over having to kill me during the last event. [ She's definitely crossing her arms now and narrowing her eyes at him. ] Just because I don't go blabbing around everything that I think and want to do here doesn't mean I have to bother with your attitude.
