[ About 20 minutes before curfew, Anastasia sends him a message. ]

[ He reaaally hopes this entire thing didn't turn out as terribly as it could because he's probably going to get a Queen's rage now.

And still goes anyway. Maybe he did go mad? No no... He's showing up, one knock on the door and then lets himself in without waiting for a reply because he's assuming that nobody else would be expected here ]

[ No, they wouldn't. Not right now anyway. Ana's still wearing red, but it's mostly because she doesn't have wardrobe of another color yet. She would have stayed in her jumpsuit but the bottom was all wet from the snow and it was nearing bedtime anyway, so she'd changed into her night gown and robe a little while ago. When he comes in, she's already standing up, playing with the crown and looking down at it. Her eyes dart to him and before she can give herself a chance to hesitate, she meets him halfway and holds the crown out. ]

You can still use the bathroom as long as I'm in here but you have to take it. Show him you've got it before you get rid of it.

[ She was already pretty sure that Jefferson knew who she was after all. ]

[ She gets a questioning look in return -- one of surprise but then he looks down, nodding once, with a soft smile on his face. The crown gets taken from her. ]

As you wish. I take it you landed safely on your feet then?

[ When he takes it, her grip on it makes it obvious that she's a little hesitant, but she's still doing it. Everything happened so quickly earlier that day. It was settling in now, as she gave things up and tried to figure out what to do with what she had. She was a little nervous, but she managed to let go of it. ]

[ He gives an understanding now and pockets the crown. ]

It's going to be difficult now but the right thing always is.

[ She'd expected to lose most everyone. Jefferson of all people was someone who she really just had used to get things that she wanted. Part of the means to an end crowd and she'd thought he knew it. Anastasia was grateful for it, but she wasn't sure she trusted it. She'd learned not to trust others. ]

[ He gestures at her ] And just between you and me, I'd rather stand next to someone who was out for love than power.

I'm sure you are one of the few I know here who will share that sentiment.

[ She does have her concerns about certain individuals whose names are synonymous with "lil shits." ]

I doubt they one's that don't share would cross you.

[ Just because she isn't going to wear red anymore doesn't mean that her temper is going to dissipate right away, even if she feels much better. ]
