[She looks a bit groggy when the video turns on, though her voice doesn't seem to be bothered by it all.]

This is to the people running this place. I know you watch us, I know you have eyes on us somewhere. This collar, the stuff it does, you're only getting away with it because nobody outside of here knows but they will. You can't keep it a secret, people will find out and I'll make sure of it.

And about the nap? You can't keep me... chloroformed or whatever forever.

Would anyone even care once the truth was out? We're all criminals to the outside. The place could say we're worse than we are. What's the damage if everyone thinks we're on death row anyway?

Even criminals have rights. You know, the cruel and usual punishment thing? I'm pretty sure it applies to drug related collars.

[Her next words are almost a mumble.] I keep waiting for somebody to tell me to fetch their paper and take me for my daily walk with this thing.

You might think criminals have rights but once you're imprisoned you have none. That cruel and unusual punishment thing is just an a guideline to make everyone outside feel better and they can keep going on thinking their hands are still clean. Nobody questions this place. They don't want to know. It'll be easy to cover because the truth would imply they're just as bad as the we are for sticking us in here.

Wow, I'd call you a glass half empty kind of guy but it sounds more like your glass has been broken for a long time.

There's people out there fighting against this. Or would be, if we can get news out to them. Families don't just forget about people they put away. Once we blow their cover, they lose their power.

Something about this place makes me worried that's literal.

If only it were so easy to give someone a new glass. There's enough of us that we could make a disaster. How do you even know you can trust half of these people?

[ rubbing his head. there's a pause like he's thinking and then- ] Alright so. How would you show them?

Your broken glass is what's keeping you from trying for a new glass.

I don't. [Skye's not dumb enough to hop into a prison and pretend she can trust everybody. I mean, it's a prison.] So, I'm not going to be on a bus tomorrow. It'll take time but I'll find out who I can trust. Enough people can do it, I just have to find the right pieces.

Usually? It's not really that hard. All the people I busted had secrets they wanted to keep. When they couldn't, courtesy of moi, they went down. This place won't be any different.

Okay, enough dog analogies. This thing.. [She jerks at it.] is already degrading enough.

[ he goes to say something then stops and gives her a curious frown cause he got caught on the glass line for a moment. ] I guess... moving down to the new glass would make sense.

[ squinting at her. she's on to something and might have unintentionally gave him some kind of mental breakthrough. we're getting a little less pessimistic here and leaning forward with interest ]

But you went down with them. [ a vague hand motion. you're kind of in a prison, girl. ]

We'll switch to cats then.

I went down with them but they went down. There's tons more that got taken down before this and people like me are still out there doing it.

You're really stuck on this animal, thing, huh? I wanted to go back to being people with ideas and opposable thumbs.

Oh, you can be a person, sure. I get a little stuck on occasion. Doesn't change the fact the place views us as the animals but we're definitely humans with thumbs, yes.

I know it will. Why's the only thing you seem sure of is that we have no chance here?

Two thumbs, lots of brain power, ideas. And a lot of other cool stuff about being human but my point is, we're not as easy to control as animals are.
