Grand opening!
[As soon as it's 7:00 am, there is a loud beep that echoes through the corridors of the prison. It's time for an announcement as the intercom comes on.]
Good morning my wonderful criminals, how are you all feeling? Don't worry, I can assure you that dizzy spell will wear off as soon as you get up and stretch those legs of yours. Be careful of your collar as well, as you might have guessed it has all sorts of functions! Also, today is December 8th, Sunday, and it's currently 7 am.
Now, it would be in your best interest to read your manuals that we've given you, just so you can get nice and settled in.
I'm afraid it's a little cold outside, if you have time to check the courtyards then you'll most likely feel that winter's breeze on your rosy little cheeks! Do be careful, I don't want any of you getting frostbite on your first day, that would be tragic.
Since it's the grand opening for you new comers, we are currently holding a small party in the cafeteria! Grab your soon-to-be-friends and head on down. We have tables set up and food as well!
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
[With that being said, the doors to the cells now slide open, allowing the inmates to leave their rooms.
In the cafeteria majority of the tables have been cleared away, and the ones that remain have red tablecloths on them, nice and fancy! The spread consists of luxurious food, even sweets of all kinds. Since it's December, it seems that the warden is in a rather giving mood, aren't you all lucky! ]

Alas, it seemed there were to be other plans for the day. He would be inclined to ponder what sort of prison held parties for its inmates, but he had already read enough to know that this place was twisted and deranged. The unsightly collar fastened around his neck was a constant reminder of that.
He sighed, wondering when his room mate would wake. He could only pray that the other man was mildly tolerable. ]

He flipped over again and found himself heading for the floor. It happened so quick he couldn't stop himself and within seconds he found himself on the cold floor.
He didn't dare make any noise, he didn't want the people to come back. He wanted to keep quiet and then plan his escape in the middle of the night somehow.
When he sat up, he held his head, and stared right at his cell mate. Great, so the greasy-haired jerk had witnessed that. There went his pride.]

Placing the manual under his pillow for safekeeping, he emerged from his own bunk and offered a hand to his fallen roommate. ]
Shall I help you stand or do you plan on sitting down there for a while longer?
no subject
Shut up, assbutt.
[Grumpily, Steve took the man's hand when it was offered. He had pinched a nerve on his arm and didn't have the strength to get himself back up off the floor.]
I'll be fine. Thanks.
no subject
He was surprised that the stranger would accept his aid after serving up such a juvenile insult, but Loki grasped his hand and helped him to his feet anyway.
What an absolutely intriguing cellmate he had acquired. ]
A bit grumpy this morning, are we?
no subject
[He grunts, holding his head as he wobbles over to the toilet in case he has to throw up. How demeaning, to throw up in front of this guy. It was the last thing he wanted.
After standing for a few minutes and no results, he turned to him. He didn't even care for a name at this moment even though it had probably been relayed to him.]
Did I miss lunch? Was too depressed to wake up in time.

[ Loki raised a brow as the other man shakily ventured toward their humble plumbing unit, seeming as though he was about to vomit. He sighed and turned his vision elsewhere, deciding to stare at his pillow in favor of witnessing a stranger exorcising his demons.
With their conversation unfinished in his mind, there was nothing else to but lean against the wall and wait. He would leave the cell in due time, but it would be flat out idiotic to go before he knew who it was that would be sleeping above his head every night for the rest of his living days.
After several minutes of silence, Loki felt a pair of eyes gazing his way. He never had to look to know when he was being stared at. It was a sense he had developed a long time ago. Before he could speak his own mind, the stranger began rattling on about lunch and being sad. Loki took his own turn at staring. ]
Tell me you're joking. It's barely past seven in the morning. Did you honestly miss that blaring announcement?
no subject
[That was all Steve could manage to say. So it had been even less time than he thought.
Wonderful.
He tried to climb his way back up to his bunk, but gave up after a brief case of vertigo. He opted to sit back on the toilet instead. He took in Loki's appearance, his eyes narrowing before he spoke.]
Do you ever wash your hair?
no subject
Do you make a habit of stumbling about like a drunken giraffe?
[ He crossed his arms and shifted his weight, not interested in moving from where he was standing. Clearly, he would have to start the important conversations on his own. ]
I don't intend on leaving until I know who you are. You strike me as a very non-compliant man, so I'll offer you a deal: ask me anything and I'll answer honestly if you do the same in return.
[ As honestly as he felt like, anyway. ]
no subject
My "earth" name is Steve, but I'm Castiel.
[He stopped, realising that nobody would believe him. Of course.. not even the doctors did. They insisted he was "sick," that he needed to be "medicated..."]
And fine. I already asked you one. Answer it.
no subject
As for Steve's choice in a question, it only made the corners of his lips creep even further up his face. It appeared that the mystery man was a bit dull, even for all of his engima. ]
A name does not tell me who you are.
no subject
Anyway, I don't want you knowing. I can't trust you.
[He pouted, climbing back into his top bunk and covering his face. He wanted these ten years to be over, and quick.]
Wake me up when it's lunch time.
no subject
[ Loki's smile merely turned to a grin as Steve made an attempt to escape the conversation. It was a futile effort, though amusing to watch nonetheless.
Of course, it would have been too simple for Loki to politely knock on the bed frame or some other such thing to grab his attention again. Instead, he returned to his own bed just long enough for Steve to fall back into the lull of sleep.
And then he banged the bunk from underneath with his feet.
He crossed his arms and waited as he laid comfortably, delighted in the knowledge that Steve would be undeniably furious. ]
no subject
He wanted to go down there and knock him upside the head, but then who knew what he'd do. Clearing his throat, he mumbled.]
Please stop. I don't even want to be alive nonetheless awake.
[Maybe that would've helped a little.]
no subject
For someone with such conviction, you seem awfully eager to die.
[ It didn't help at all. ]
no subject
Or maybe if he was lucky, the asshole would be out in a few years.
Uncovering his head, he decided to mine for some information...]
How long are you here for, bud.
no subject
[ Just playing mind games with this sack of bricks was enough entertainment to last him for at least half of his life sentence. Of course, Steve would come to know of that only if he learned to play along. ]
no subject
[He wanted lunch. And he wanted to eat very far away from te greasy-haired asshole.
He couldn't believe he landed himself here. He had thoguht he committed the perfect crime...
His eyes drifted closed, then popped back open. Climbing down the stairs, he pointed at Loki.]
You. Top bunk. I want to sleep undisturbed.
no subject
[ Loki could only sigh to himself as Steve grew silent. It seemed he was somewhat of a hard case to crack. This didn't mean Loki was going to give up, of course. If he wanted something, he would get it.
He shifted his position to retrieve the Deadmand Wonderland manual from below his pillow before making himself comfortable again. Opening it up to page one, he began reading it for the second time in as many hours. Out loud.
As he had half expected, Steve was quick to come down and threaten him. What an absolute charmer. ]
Oh, hello again. Back so soon? You know, it isn't polite to be so demanding. This is my bunk, after all. I don't have any plans of giving it up, I'm afraid.
no subject
[Grumbling, Steve shoved Loki out of the way; at least enough so he could score a place in the corner of the bed. But he was sure Loki would bother him sooner or later, so he decided it best grab some rest when he could.]
no subject
Shrugging to himself, Loki placed his feet on Steve's back and used his body as a footrest. He turned a page in the manual and continued reading aloud, taking extra care to speak loudly enough to be a disturbance. ]
no subject
He figured he could deal with it for a while. Or at least give the appearance of putting up with it...[
no subject
His idle expression masking his deeper thoughts, Loki continued to read, placing unneeded emphasis on random words and phrases in hopes of driving Steve into at least a retreat if not compliance. ]
no subject
He burrowed deeper into the bed, covering one side of his face with the man's pillow and the other by shoving his ear into the mattress. It seemed to drown the noise out for now, and before long he fell into a light sleep.]
