[xiao comes into view, looking rather distraught. she just witnessed what happened and... well.]
Hey.... wait a second- all of that was real... wasn't it?
[she shakes her head.]
Not only did the audience see it but it was broadcast all over Deadman Wonderland. Just... what is this place?! What they're doing here isn't humane at all! This has got to be illegal... right?

Helloooooooooo Deadman Wonderland!
... well, that didn't sound very cheerful, did it? Never mind the name, then. We'll think of another one later. Wibbly Wobbly Wonderland, maybe?
Oh, where was I? Yes, I believe I was introducing myself. Hello! I'm John. John Smith if you'd like to get formal, but John is just fine. Actually, some people call me The Doctor for some reason or another, which I quite like so feel free to use that as well. Any variants of it, really. Doc, medical personnel, that old quack with the silly hair.
I suppose I'm rambling a bit. Terribly sorry, it's a long living habit of mine. Anyway. Now that introductions are out of the way on this end, what do the rest of you have to say? I'm only going to be here for five years but that's actually quite a long while so I wouldn't mind finding a companion or two to help me pass the time.
Oh, and I'd very much like to be rid of this garish orange jumpsuit. There are shops with proper clothing, aren't there?

This may save anybody job hunting or planning their options some time:
All jobs open to inmates in Deadman Wonderland, regardless of the labor or skill level involved, pay the same: 10,000CP per day.
This means regardless of your chosen labor, it will take ten (10) work days to afford an antidote candy (100,000CP). Nine (9) the first time, with our starting bank balance (10,000CP).
You'll supposedly die in seven (7) days without it.
I'd still recommend starting a job today. Even given a piece in advance that will buy us seven (7) days or 70,000CP, I doubt many of us obtained a job on day one, but that still counts as one of seven (7) days on the count down. Consider the starting bank balance as coverage for that. The means for obtaining emergency funds seem slim. In another week, with seven (7) more days of payment, minus another 100,000CP for candy, you'll be down to 40,000CP. Another week, assuming no other income from events or free antidotes, 10,000CP. From there I assume you can do the math yourself and see the picture being painted: a nest egg won't last, even assuming you can handle a seven (7) day work week.

[As soon as it's 7:00 am, there is a loud beep that echoes through the corridors of the prison. It's time for an announcement as the intercom comes on.]
Good morning my wonderful criminals, how are you all feeling? Don't worry, I can assure you that dizzy spell will wear off as soon as you get up and stretch those legs of yours. Be careful of your collar as well, as you might have guessed it has all sorts of functions! Also, today is December 8th, Sunday, and it's currently 7 am.
Now, it would be in your best interest to read your manuals that we've given you, just so you can get nice and settled in.
I'm afraid it's a little cold outside, if you have time to check the courtyards then you'll most likely feel that winter's breeze on your rosy little cheeks! Do be careful, I don't want any of you getting frostbite on your first day, that would be tragic.
Since it's the grand opening for you new comers, we are currently holding a small party in the cafeteria! Grab your soon-to-be-friends and head on down. We have tables set up and food as well!
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
[With that being said, the doors to the cells now slide open, allowing the inmates to leave their rooms.
In the cafeteria majority of the tables have been cleared away, and the ones that remain have red tablecloths on them, nice and fancy! The spread consists of luxurious food, even sweets of all kinds. Since it's December, it seems that the warden is in a rather giving mood, aren't you all lucky! ]
